Founder, Tyler Amaya, is a former professional basketball player and accomplished coach who also founded PNW Rain, the premier basketball training program in Northwest Washington.

Ethan Chapin
Ethan Chapin was a vibrant young man with a bright future who Tyler had the privilege of coaching for many years. Tragically, Ethan’s promising light was extinguished in November 2022 during his sophomore year in college.
In the wake of this devastating loss, Tyler founded Hoop for the Valley, with the support of the Chapin family. This organization honors Ethan’s all-too-brief life by sharing the joy of basketball with kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the same opportunity he cherished.
